Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Apogee Denton different from a traditional homeschool enrichment program?

At Apogee Denton we want to build more than just an academic drop off program. We want to build a real community hub where families get education, skills, mindset, networking, and relationship. Life is meant to be lived in a tribe and we are building one right here in Denton Texas.

What does a self directed learning environment look like?

Our classroom gives students the agency to help plot their own growth. Our learners will set goals, manage their time, and hold each other accountable through shared agreements and standards. Our guides act as mentors, not lecturers. They ask meaningful questions, coach character, and foster reflection. There will be guardrails, but ones that allow for the self-mastery required of tomorrow's problem solvers and decision makers.

What ages are you accepting?

We are currently accepting ages 6-12 years (1st-7th) for the 2025-2026 school year. We will have mixed aged classrooms as capacity dictates with our long term vision serving young leaders throughout the K-12th range.

Where are you located?

Apogee Denton is located at Journey Fellowship Church in Denton.

How will Apogee  Denton prepare my child for college, entrepreneurship, or the workforce?

Apogee Denton equips learners with real-world skills that prepare them for college, entrepreneurship, or the workforce, without relying on rote memorization or standardized tests. Through hands-on projects, public exhibitions, and entrepreneurial challenges, students develop critical thinking, creativity, time management, and leadership. They learn to set goals, solve problems, and communicate their ideas clearly; skills essential for any future path.

Is Apogee Denton faith based?

Apogee Denton openly incorporates faith-based elements into our daily rhythm, including devotionals, Bible verses, and conversations about virtue, purpose, and moral responsibility. However, we do not require a statement of faith, and families of all faith backgrounds (or none at all) are welcome, so long as they are comfortable with this approach.
