Frequently Asked Questions
Apogee Denton focuses on real-world skills instead of traditional tests and grades. Students prove their mastery through hands-on projects, critical thinking exercises, physical fitness and health, community challenges, building businesses, and self directed learning. We aim to prepare learners for the future with practical skills that go beyond strict academic study, encouraging growth in real life scenarios. This approach nurtures creativity, problem-solving, and personal development.
A leader/learner-driven classroom puts students in charge of their own growth. At Apogee Denton, learners set goals, manage their time, and hold each other accountable through shared agreements. Guides act as mentors, not lecturers. They ask meaningful questions, coach character, and foster reflection.
As learners mature, they take on progressive leadership responsibilities, such as mentoring peers, leading discussions, or managing group projects. This gradual shift builds confidence, independence, and a deep sense of ownership. Rather than simply following directions learners become problem-solvers and decision-makers.
We are currently accepting ages 5-12 years (K-7th) for the 2025-2026 school year. Apogee Denton will launch with a mixed age classroom(s) and will be determined after final enrollement. Our long term vision is to offer an education system that will serve young leaders throughout the K-12th range.
Apogee Denton does not currently have a location. We are talking with both commercial real estate agents as well as local community centers and churches to find our launch location. Join our contact list to get updates on our location status.
Apogee Denton equips learners with real-world skills that prepare them for college, entrepreneurship, or the workforce, without relying on rote memorization or standardized tests. Through hands-on projects, public exhibitions, and entrepreneurial challenges, students develop critical thinking, creativity, time management, and leadership. They learn to set goals, solve problems, and communicate their ideas clearly; skills essential for any future path.
Apogee Denton is a private, independent learning center, but we are not accredited by the State of Texas. This is an intentional decision. Accreditation would require us to follow state-mandated curriculum, testing, and oversight, which runs counter to our mission of preserving educational freedom and parental sovereignty.
Because of this, state-funded school vouchers are not currently available for Apogee families. While we support educational choice, we also believe that state funding often comes with strings that compromise the very independence and innovation that make alternative models like ours so powerful. Instead, we offer founding family rates, flexible payment plans, and scholarship opportunities to help make this model accessible to mission-aligned families.
If there is ever an opportunity to become accredited in way that does not limit our freedom as parents and educators we have full intention of pursuing this course and make vouchers available to Apogee families.
Yes. Apogee Denton openly incorporates faith-based elements into our daily rhythm, including devotionals, Bible verses, and conversations about virtue, purpose, and moral responsibility. However, we do not require a statement of faith, and families of all faith backgrounds (or none at all) are welcome, so long as they are comfortable with our approach.
